Educational Supplies to Vision Impaired Student
The Sri Lanka Council for the Blind, as the forerunner and the principal service provider organisation for the Vision Impaired in the whole of Sri Lanka, organized a ceremony to mark the award of educational supplies to deserving vision impaired students pursuing higher studies for the 29th successive year.
The ceremony was held on Friday, the 28th of July 2023 in the Amaradasa Gunawardana Auditorium of the Sri Lanka Council for the Blind at No 50B, Sarana Mawatha, Rajagiriya at 9.30a.m in the presence of the Ambassador for the Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka Her Excellency Miyon LEE as Chief Guest. The Chairman of the Korean Businessmen’s Association Mr. H.K. Kwak and the Secretary Mr. CHOI Sung Woo were also in attendance as Honoured Guests.
This programme was made possible for the 24th consecutive year with the kind Sponsorship of the Korean Businessmen’s Association in Sri Lanka and benefited 35 deserving vision impaired students who received a package comprising an Accessible Voice recorder with mp3 player, Braille writing paper and White cane. The cost of one such pack of supplies is approximately Rs. 22,000/-.
